Last week I attended a ISC(2) CCSP Item Writing Workshop.
This was the first time I have attended this type of event and I did not know what to expect.
A few days later I have been reflecting on the event and these are my thoughts.
This has to be one of the most enjoyable events I have ever attended.
The Cloud Security Knowledge within the room was amazing, so many fantastic people.
The way ISC(2) organised this event made us all feel like a family and I have left the event with some really good memories and friends.
I would recommend anybody that is a ISC(2) member to volunteer.
I will always remember this experience.
Thank you ISC(2)
Looking forward to attending a CISSP workshop as it becomes available.
Wow - that sounds great.
Are they going to have any in the future?
I would have to agree with you. I attended my first Item Writing Workshop earlier this summer. It was an educational experience for me as well. The networking opportunities were awesome. Lastly being part of something that is bigger than I and contributing to the profession and industry was rather impressive while still humbling. A definitely positive experience that I would welcome again.
This warms my heart to hear!!! So glad you guys have enjoyed the experience! This is Toni Hahn - I work in Exams and run some of the workshops. In case you are wondering if you hold one of our certifications, you can volunteer for our workshops for that certification. In 2019, we have 40 various scheduled workshops to take place. Here is the information from our website.....
We need pros like you to help create and improve (ISC)² examinations. Throughout the year in a variety of locations, (ISC)² holds several examination development workshops. Typically, these workshops are 2.5 days.
As a volunteer, you will help create new exams or update and refresh existing exams. It's an excellent way to meet peers while also helping to prepare the next generation of information security professionals. Workshops are open to all members holding relevant credentials in the workshop's subject matter.
What's in it for you?
Members earn one credit of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for every hour worked at an examination development workshop. Typically, this amounts to 21 CPEs per workshop. Credits are processed after the workshop by (ISC)² Member Services.
(ISC)² also pays all travel, lodging and out-of-pocket expenses of the attendees but it does not compensate its members for attending.
Who is eligible to volunteer?
Requirements:
If interested in volunteering for examination development, please complete the form at the bottom of the page with the required information.
Due to the high number of volunteers, not all volunteers can be invited to the next available workshop. However, attempts will be made to invite new volunteers to each workshop.

For all we know, a 'Diabolically Inverted' badge will be awarded to those who reach 999 posts...
@rslade - well keep a look out. The CISSP - we have more workshops for those, HOWEVER, we have A LOT more volunteers for CISSP (about 8000 volunteers for CISSP) Next year we are having 20 CISSP workshops. If you do get an invite - respond back immediately as they fill up super FAST!!! 🙂
