Nice.  In my many years in the USAF, I only shot an M-16 for a half day in basic.  Never touched a DoD-issued weapon again.  I got assigned to exotic places like Plattsburgh, NY, Enid, OK, and Wichita Falls, TX, and Elkridge, MD.

Hi Rick,

I think its an individual choice. Those who want to server their country would like to join the government agencies. There are some who would like to learn more and earn 🙂 so they would like to join a company which is either a security services company or security product company.

Cheers,

Raj

Good morning.

The question is "If you could pick" which one.

Brutal Honesty:

1) The one that pays the most

2) The one with greatest job security

3) The one that lets me work from home.

Hi,

I have been prepping myself for management . . since 1998, and fully expecting to find the 'ladder' that everyone speaks about . . that ladder that a person can climb to 'sucess.'

I have all of the 'right' qualifications, several years' experience, led teams of up to 15 people in a DHS Security Operations Center, many years of hands-on experience.

Add to that a list of technical certs long as your arm, a CISSP for 18 years. Plus I have two Associate's Degrees, a Bachelors in Computer Science, a Master's in CISO Operations & Management, and a Doctorate in Computer Science.

I found a CISO who is in Colorado Springs on LinkedIn recently, their Master's is from Norwich U, so is My Master's. I TRAIL-BLAZED the Masters in Info Assurance at Norwich University's new track for Industry-specific Case Study nine years before that CISO did. That CISO in Co. Springs has their CISSP cert. I got my CISSP 4 years before they did.

While ISC2 supports, speaks about, and espouses the concept that there should be more females working in cyber, it will be many decades until there are 50% females in cyber . . IF ever!!

Where can I post my extensive research on the topic? I am living proof that there is no ladder for me. I have Done Everything Right, yet am being discarded similar to the technical XX Chromosome people in the MIT-published research by Prof. M. Hicks that's published by MIT.

tkx,

Dr. J.
