I recently obtained my CC and am already working towards taking my CISSP exam in Feb. I wanted to know if when I obtain my CISSP will my required CPEs for CC be full filled and I will them only need to worry about gaining CPEs for my CISSP cert? Like Comptia I only have to worry about keeping my Sec+ cert renewed and the lower level certs auto renew with it. I am not sure if ISC2 has the same cascading system. Both the CC and CISSP are in the same field/category. I know about the studying for the CISSP can be used for CPEs but not sure about once I have it going forward.
Depends on the format and number of hours you spend studying and the CC CPE requirements (I don't know what that requirement is as I do not hold a CC). For certification study, all of that education counts - online courses, books, and articles you read for the CISSP. I studied for approximately 40 hours for the CISSP, so depending on how long it takes you to study for your CISSP, you can apply those hours as CPEs to the CC.

The requirement is not waived, but when you submit a CPE, you can apply it to multiple certifications. It is not automatic, but the effort is minimal -- check another checkbox.
