CPE for CISSP and SSCP

Hi there,

I usually take short courses from PDI, InfoSec Magazine quizz, and Think Tank round table to collect CPEs for my CISSP and SSCP. All my CPE come from Group A.

Now I have

41 out of 120 for CISSP - Still 6 months into the 3 year cycle

41 out of 60 for SSCP - 1 year completed in the 3 year cycle

1. I want to know whether it is compulsory for me to have Group B CPE to successfully complete 3 year CPEs and get recertify or can I still go ahead with Group A credits and complete 3 years ?

2. If I get certified in another certification such as CISM, can I add that to my CPE total ?

Look forward to seeing the answers.

Thank you

Sandun

To answer your first question, check out page 6 of this document:

https://www.isc2.org/-/media/ISC2/Certifications/CPE/CPE---Handbook.ashx?la=en&hash=0AEF69053C580BF6...

It clearly states all CPEs can be group A.

On your second question, you cannot get CPEs for writing and passing the exam, but you may claim CPEs for time spent studying. (explained on page 9 of the doc.).

Hope this helps
