BrightTalk... and email proliferation

Is anyone else suddenly receiving a lot of emails from BrightTalk?  In the previous three weeks, I've suddenly had an avalanche of solicitations on a variety of topics.  I had previously set my BrightTalk account to limit messages, so I'm wondering if something was changed.

Anyway, I'm curious if you're seeing what I'm seeing.

I have seen no change in the number of E-mails that am receiving on BrightTalk webinars.  There are some other vendors that seem to have tagged along and sending messages now but no worse than before on E-mails.

Sometimes there's a consent checkbox when you log in to BrightTalk, if you ignore it you don't get spammed.

My E-mails are all from ISC2. I have never gotten one from BrightTalk. Not sure what settings that I may have selected.

The BrightTalk emails come from having created a BrightTalk account, in order to participate in ISC2 webinars for CPE opportunities.

I set mine up in 2019, and tweaked my distribution in the settings at that time.  But suddenly, last month I got hammered by BrightTalk solicitations for things beyond those which ISC2 would inform me.

That's why I was curious if anyone else was affected.  If BrightTalk had made changes to their platform, more than one person would likely notice the increase in messages.  Alas, it only happened to me... so clearly I must've clicked something unintentionally.

Thanks everyone

Definitely no change in mine.  Sorry that you were so "lucky".

Thank you @nkeaton, and at least it's easy to fix.  Unsubscribe from everything.

Also, I am very fortunate to have a vibrant nearby community where there's lots of CPE-generating events.  My early CPE were always BrightTalk, because I didn't have access to what I have now: ISSA meetings, CISA events, and security conferences!

I to absolutely get swamped by marketing email from whichever video I happen to watch - e.g. I watched a video on PKI Migrations recently, and then had to unsubscribe to at least 3 vendors who I received follow up marketing from within the week.

I find this behaviour a bit unscrupulous by BrightTalk, as none of how they use your email address is presented to you up front when listening to a talk and you will have to go digging into the depths of the site find out how they use your information.

I've just tried their opt-out link and we'll see what that does..

I changed my bright talk email to a plussed-address (e.g. denbesten+brighttalk@gmail.com) so that

I still get emails, but can very easily filter them.

You taught me a wonderful thing just now.  Thank you.  I'm about to make some gigantic changes.
