Good evening,
I am planning to do the CISSP exam in June this year. I still have a question about the work experience. I am aware that I need 5 years of full time experience in at least 2 of the 8 domains.
In Germany we have something called "Ausbildung" which is like a job training. How does that count into the work experience? In this job training I worked full time 40 hours/week in at least 2 of the 8 domains. I have started in August 2020 until End of January 2023 and from there I have worked until now after my job training and in August 2025 I would have the 5 years of experience.
Does that count?
Thanks in advance and greetings from Düsseldorf, Germany!

I believe that the best way to answer the question on experience is to print out the exam objectives (ISC2 calls it an exam outline) and note your experience next to each item. Then you can determine that you have at least 5 years in at least 2 domains. Typically ISC2 does not evaluate this for you on the front end unfortunately. That list is also valuable for when you do your endorsement as will have it and the words right in front of you.
Nils,
I would say that even if you were "in training" (I believe in Canada and the US, this would equate to an apprenticeship , where you are trained and doing the job) that the experience should count.
However, the experts are the folks in Customer Service. (https://isc2.org/contact-us ),
You may also get 1 year credit for any degree that you might hold.
Personally, I believe your experience counts.
Others?
