IATF Framework

Hi All,

I have started reading the IATF -  Information Assurance Technical Framework (IATF) Release 3.1, its an excellent document to understand the concepts of Systems Engineering with Security Mindset.

There are a few references to dial up modem based authentications, is there an expectations for exam takers to understand this authentication process and recommended countermeasures.

In the similar context, there are many reference to legacy concepts do we diligently understand these concepts.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Vinay

It has been quite a few years since I took the ISSEP exam, but it was much more focused on the security engineering processes, rather than specific technologies. The IATF is a bit dated, and has not been updated by NSA, much to my chagrin. While I was not an author, I did participate in the review process of the drafts and submitted many comments that were ultimately included. Even though some things are dated, it is still a valuable reference.
