I hope you're all doing well. I’m reaching out for advice on how to successfully transition into a cybersecurity role. I’ll be completing my Master’s in Cybersecurity in May 2025, and I currently hold CompTIA Security plus, A plus, and multiple AWS Cloud certifications.
Right now, I work in IT support at a healthcare company, but unfortunately, they don’t have a cybersecurity department. I’ve been actively job hunting and networking on LinkedIn, but so far, I haven’t had much success.
I’d really appreciate any guidance on how to break into cybersecurity whether it’s recommendations on specific skills to focus on, effective job search strategies, or insights on networking with the right people. If anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d love to hear how you navigated it.
