    (ISC)2 Atlantic Canada Chartering Chapter      Topic: New Leadership Positions Open   To better focus on our services to members, the chapter officers are opening the following opportunities to join the leadership committee. We expect that roles will have a direct impact to our members and our area community. Please review, and if have questions, or are interested in applying for one of these positions, please forward the following to our official chapter email address: info@isc2chapter-atlanticcanada.ca:  Your preferred contact email address  Your relevant background  What you would like to accomplish in the role    Position 1: Event Planning Chair  Responsibilities:  Propose and maintains the Chapter’s annual plan of member-focused and community-focused events, approved by Chapter Leadership  Organise a committee to arrange for the execution of the plan,  Coordinate with the Treasurer to secure such plans fit within available resources, and   Coordinate with the Director of Community Engagement to appropriately leverage our partners.  Background:    Education Events: These encourage potential (ISC)² members to contribute with their professional skills and learn more about (ISC)² certificates; Connect cyber security professionals for educational resources; Mentor junior professionals; Inspire the next generation to participate in the cyber-security sessions and projects. Example Education Events:  Industry Expert Presentations  Study Groups  Seminars/Workshops  Curriculum Development  Continuing Professional Education (CPEs)  Training Events: These community-focused events provide engaging opportunities to encourage cyber-security awareness, showcase cyber-security as a potential career choice, or mentor the next generation.  Meeting/Conference: These are themed collections of events and meetings. The Chapter targets one per year, starting with its second year after being chartered.  Professional Development: These create opportunities for information security professionals to collaborate on projects and develop leadership skills    Networking Events:  These community-focused events provide opportunities to network with other security professionals, establish collaborative and mentorship relationships, and provide a fun and informal way to discuss chapter activities and developments.    Position 2: Community Engagement Chair  Responsibilities:  Build and maintain a network of partners that either need Chapter support or can help support the Chapter execute its mission. Such support may include financial, venue, educational materials or volunteers.   Propose and plan chapter or joint fundraising activities in coordination with the Treasurer.  Background:   Sponsorship: These agreements are intended to benefit chapter events and operations. Examples include donations to the Chapter, mutually beneficial arrangements, or those to serve the community charitably.    Partnerships: These agreements are typically with other security-relevant organisations or individuals. Examples include joint or co-branded activities, participating in co-sponsored events with other industry associations with the purpose of leveraging venues, or other resources.
