My Uncle talks about Daddy’s obvious joy showing him the computer at U of I. He said felt that it was blocks long that they walked by it. Wonder how many vacuum tubes that took. Of course now our cell phones have more processing power than those dinosaurs. Daddy would be amazed.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi All&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In one of the most mind-bending experiments to date, scientists have developed a quantum mirror that reflects photons before they even arrive blurring the lines between past, present and future.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This stunning feat was achieved using ultra-fast electrical pulses and a vacuum wave-guide in a superconducting circuit, bringing quantum theory to life in a way never seen before.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The experiment is based on the dynamical Casimir effect, which suggests that empty space isn’t truly empty but filled with fluctuating quantum fields.       <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.isc2.org/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/253792811"&gt;@nkeaton&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;Just think how many valves or tubes went into Colossus WWII Computer, which was ground breaking at the time, but no one knew about it until many years later.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;It had 2,500 valves.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Used for breaking German and Japanese codes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You could heat your home from the resultant energy and heat consumed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Caute_Cautim&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

That was right before my Daddy went to college. He immediately had an interest in computers. He started taking some local college classes, while studying for his actuarial exams.</description>
