You can start with CISSP first, especially if you already meet at least 2 of the 8 CISSP CBK domains through your current or past roles.

The CISSP provides a strong foundation in security principles and practices, which is extremely valuable before diving into the more specialized cloud security topics covered in the CCSP. Once you have that base, transitioning to CCSP becomes much smoother and more meaningful.

https://www.isc2.org/certifications/cissp#Certification%20&%20Membership

I do not have prior cloud security experience, however, and i want to take the exam. Having 10 + years in IT, are there any pre-req which will prevent me from obtaining the certification?

There is nothing stopping you from taking the CCSP exam, however you would not be able to claim the certification mark unless you meet the requirements found here:

https://www.isc2.org/certifications/ccsp/ccsp-experience-requirements

If you passed the exam and do not have the experience, you could become an Associate of ISC2.

d

I recommend you earn your CISSP before your CCSP.

“ ISC2's CISSP credential can be substituted for the entire CCSP experience requirement.”
