I have searched and cant seem to find a good asset management tool. What I am looking for is something like NMAP where I can do ping sweeps but store those results in a database and add details to the found asset like:

Track Owner

Track Purpose

Then I would like to be able to update this information as needed.

The problem I am trying to solve is that I scan alot of host on the network but there is no centralized way to keep up with these hosts other than creating random spreadsheets and lists. I am trying to centralize this for free or low cost.

Im looking for some software Recommendations

I'm following this thread, too. Our company used Belarc in the past, but it does not seem to capture data as well as it has in past years.

After looking for the right solution I decided to create my own. Turns out with a little programming and time you can create a bespoke solution. I used Django/Python to create it, its a work in progress but functional and has a real backend database.

It all depends on the depth, width and level sophistication you required: Example: https://www.ibm.com/au-en/business-operations/enterprise-asset-management/eam

Regards

Caute_cautim
