While I wholeheartedly agree that the efforts by Microsoft concerning security are welcome, some of those are misguided.

I am talking about Office 365 ATP SafeLinks.

Whoever got the bright idea of rewriting URLs in the messages by pre-pending them with "na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com." and using actual URL as a query, probably did not think how it would affect other security solutions.

Phosphorus, Strontium --- I hope they aren't dedicated to targeting groups named after elements.

The hacks usually rely on the software having vulnerabilities, so they should fix those in parallel.

It does show a different perspective, that Microsoft is actually taking some responsibility from a corporate view and investing in protecting the consumers. This is a major turn around from previous years. Trust is a very large factor these days - but given the very large discounts they give to Government accounts, and Education establishments they are on a very good wicket.

Regards

Caute_cautim
