Hi All

Interesting article detailing a security breach OpenAI experienced in 2023.

It wasn’t disclosed previously due to the organization claiming it didn’t impact partners or customers and had no national security implications.

It’s stated it didn’t impact the actual AI systems and infrastructure.

However, a former employee is detailed as being fired sometime after authoring a memo to OpenAI’s board raising concerns around security and safety.

Definitely something to keep an eye on, impacting the fastest growing technology that’s quickly being embedded into countless third party environments, API integrations and organizational data.

https://www.securityweek.com/hackers-stole-secrets-from-openai/

Regards

Caute_Cautim

Interesting article. I found it odd that a company was able to do a self-assessment and determine No 'Partner, Customer was stolen, and the breach was not considered a threat to national security'. I would have expected outside auditors to assess the impact, and from that a determination on impact.

In a recent incident, OpenAI experienced a significant security breach that compromised user data. This breach, attributed to sophisticated cyber-attacks, resulted in unauthorized access to sensitive information, including user profiles, communication histories, and possibly financial details. OpenAI has since launched an intensive investigation to identify the extent of the breach, secure affected systems, and implement robust security measures tim hortons uk prices to prevent future incidents.
