The pilot for this has only recently been announced, and I'm not sure if it's even started yet - more details can be found here:

https://blog.isc2.org/isc2_blog/2022/10/isc2-and-the-uk-cyber-security-council.html

Chartered status in the UK

I see (https://www.scmagazineuk.com/royal-chartered-status-cards-cyber-security-profession-government-seeks-bidders-new-council/article/1523322) that the UK govt. is looking to develop a Royal Charter for the IT security profession. This will fill a welcome gap. While Chartered IT Professionals already exist, in more mature professions the status can be conveyed in a more granular way (there is more than one type of Chartered Engineer or Chartered Accountant, for instance) and IT now comprises a number of disciplines each of which is pretty big in its own right.

The relevant government department (Culture, Media and Sport) is seeking to build a council to oversee the journey to a Royal Charter over the next couple of years. Is (ISC)2 looking to take part in this? The National Cybersecurity Council may be accepting CISSP as a foundation qualification in its qualification programme, so involvement in this next step in establishing the profession in law would be a good thing to see.

Does anyone know what the process is for certification by the UK Cybersecurity Council as a Chartered Member?
