It is a sad commentary that midway through 2022 there are still data breaches of notable vendors which expose user payment data. The analysis of the breach will be interesting to read.

@cindelicato @dcontesti When will the tide change, to that of one, where it is no longer acceptable to be called out by the media as having been breached? Anyone would believe on the surface that the company is any thing but proud of this fact from a reputation and trust point of view?

Inevitably, as per human nature, someone's head will roll, but why can't these organisation come up front and admit it - we stuffed up, we made a mistake?

Yes, all humans make mistakes, where did they fail, were they negligent, was it a result of a board decision?

The Cost/Benefit ratio still favors saving cash over ensuring data is properly secured, or so it would seem.

@cindelicatoHow many times does an organisation have to be punished in the public, before they realise bookings are down or Privacy Commissioners get involved with resultant penalties and public scrutiny?
