Facebook is at it again. They have a new private chatting app the twants to know ALL about you, all the time.

See

Facebook’s new 'private' messaging app wants to track your location 24/7, monitor your battery, and even detect if you’re working out

"Facebook released a new companion app to Instagram called Threads, which lets you message your closest friends.

It requests huge amounts of user data — including 24/7 access to location, battery, whether you're working out, and more

Threads' data slurping highlights how Facebook is still ravenous for users' data, even as it presents itself as a more privacy-focused company.

It's also Facebook's latest competitor to Snapchat, which Instagram is fiercely competing against for younger users."

Doncha just love FB. WHYT is anyone still using it?

Oh yeah. dancing pigs!

Craig

Unfortunately, folks want to share their lifes with everyone, down to the very last detail.

Reminds me of the old water fountain at work (yes I am that old) that everyone would stand around and talk about what happened on the weekend and share parts of their life.

Problem is most folk don't know how to protect their social Media accounts to ensure some form of privacy and some folks/organizations just feed on that.....also reminds me of certain information that want you to send them your spit (oh yes you have to pay them) and they do send you a report, but think of the money they are making and the information they are gathering ......people will never learn and then when something happens, they are perplexed as to the how and why.

Well rant off for now.

d

People look at me funny when I tell them I am not on FB (or LinkedIn). I was too old to care when those came around. The tech companies know enough about me already because I use a computer and phone.

FB thinks it will become a utility. They will go the way of MySpace when the next big thing comes along. Remember when IBM was synonymous with "personal computer" and Blackberry controlled the business phone market? They thought it would always be that way.
