Thanks for the updates and glad things are working better for you. As I’ve shared before, we have several tickets in with our service provider to address your issues, and they have been looking into what you’ve reported.

To date, those tickets are still being investigated and no changes have been made to address them. Moreover, we are in the process of staging our updates to the platform, but nothing has been pushed to production yet. The experience you reported seems to be unique, but I’m glad it’s correcting itself. I have added this thread of messages/errors to the open tickets with them that we have for you.

As we push our updates to the community in the coming days, I encourage all users to let us know of any unexpected behavior.

Thank you all.

OK, I mentioned an oddity in "Notifications" before, and saw the same error today:

Again, like the previous time, a few minutes ago the bell icon showed two notifications waiting, but, by the time I went to look at them, the number indicator had gone.

However, this is still unusual, since, even when there are no notifications "waiting" and unread, clicking the notifications bell icon at least shows you notifications that you have read.

Lots and lots of weirdnesses this week ...

@AndreaMoore @tonyshiver

> AndreaMoore (Community Manager) mentioned you in a post! Join the conversation

Taking this opportunity for another test of the "reply-via-email" function ...

> Thanks for the updates and glad things are working better for you.

Well, it's delightful that the subscriptions are working again. However, having
been burned once (twice? numerous times?) I am doing double duty, by checking
whether I am, in fact, receiving everything I should be receiving via email. So far
it looks like everything is coming through properly. (I haven't had much chance
to try the "reply-via-email" function, which is part of why I'm replying to this.
The "community" doesn't seem to be discussing much security these days: it's all
CPEs and AMFs and "re-ups" on certs, and I don't care about any of that
anymore.)

> As I’ve shared before, we have several tickets in with our service provider to
> address your issues, and they have been looking into what you’ve reported.

It's really weird, and more than a little frustrating. They couldn't find what was
wrong lst time, either. And, since they don't know what's wrong, and say nothing
happened to fix it, it's really hard to have any confidence in the system.

> To date, those tickets are still being investigated and no changes have been
> made to address them.

As I say.

> Moreover, we are in the process of staging our updates to
> the platform, but nothing has been pushed to production yet. The experience you
> reported seems to be unique, but I’m glad it’s correcting itself.

Hamming code, I trust. Mysterious errors that somehow disappear again I don't.

> I have
> added this thread of messages/errors to the open tickets with them that we have
> for you. As we push our updates to the community in the coming days, I
> encourage all users to let us know of any unexpected behavior.

Of course, with all the attendant weirdnesses of the "community," it's hard to
know what is "unexpected" 🙂

====================== (quote inserted randomly by Pegasus Mailer)
rslade@vcn.bc.ca slade@victoria.tc.ca rslade@computercrime.org
Oh, great reviews are the worst. They mislead you more than the
bad ones, because they only fuel your ego. Then you only want
another one, like potato chips or something, and the best thing
you get is fat and bloated. - Chazz Palminteri
victoria.tc.ca/techrev/rms.htm http://twitter.com/rslade
http://blogs.securiteam.com/index.php/archives/author/p1/
https://community.isc2.org/t5/forums/recentpostspage/user-id/1324864413
