Any truth to this post on cybervista?

On September 25 at Security Congress, (ISC)² CEO, David Shearer, announced that the CISSP exam will soon be introducing a CAT format. So what does this mean?

CAT stands for “Computerized Adaptive Test.” Although the CISSP has been computer-based since June of 2012, the adaptive aspect of the exam creates a drastically different test-taking experience. (ISC)² is the first cybersecurity certification body to introduce computer adaptive testing.

https://www.cybervista.net/cissp-new-cat-computerized-adaptive-test/

Hi everyone,

We have details to share now. Beginning on December 18 of this year, those taking the CISSP exam (in English only) will be using the Computer Adaptive Testing format.

Details are on the website -

I'm in agreement of updating the exam. No issue with that at all. What I am seeing (message boards, study groups, etc.) is why just a 30 day notice? I'm aware that when this first came out as a rumor (month ago) that some of the CISSP's called and asked about it. Response was "Not true" and wanted to know who was reporting this?" A better answer might have been "Not authorized to deny or confirm", and let people come to their own conclusion.

It seems that, since last December (2017) it is no longer possible to get the 6 hour exam but only the CAT. I have booked mine today and that was confirmed to be the case... I would have preferred the longer version as it should allow the test taker to review the questions before submitting but it seems that this will be the only option now...
