@Soniya-01 A good summary, according to the German BSI they reckon it could take 15 years for a full migration to occur. Given the history of the payments industry and the howls of derision which come from them, or push back - it could take far longer.

However. one that stands out for me is that many vendors may offer facilities or even bridging technologies or even lab services, they will have a keen interest in developing relationships with organisations and individuals as effectively it turns into another market opportunity and a revenue generator.

If we left everything to the Vendor, it will not solve the inherent issues, the organisations and their clients own the data - certainly we cannot guarantee that the Vendor for example Microsoft, won't drop the ball again, this is a good opportunity to identify gaps in processes, procedures and prepare to overcome them during this journey too. Those who are proactive will be the winners, the laggards, may find they will go into liquidation or clients will be migrating rapidly to organisations who will provide the maturity and assurance services.

Regards

Caute_Cautim

Hi All

A very valid question and also point of view, vendors are important in your Quantum -Safe Migration as well as your cybersecurity team too.

https://www.quantinuum.com/news/the-role-of-technology-vendors-in-your-quantum-safe-migration

As Professor Michaela Mosca states, if you have not started planning, you are in potential deep do-do.

Regards

Caute_Cautim

Understanding Quantum Threats:

Technology vendors need to understand the potential threats posed by quantum computers to current encryption methods.

Developing Quantum-Safe Solutions:

Vendors work on creating new technologies and encryption methods that can withstand the computational power of quantum computers. These are called quantum-safe or quantum-resistant solutions.

Providing Upgrades and Tools:

Vendors offer tools and upgrades to existing systems so that businesses can transition to quantum-safe technologies seamlessly.

Educating and Guiding Clients:

Vendors play a role in educating their clients about the risks associated with quantum computing and guiding them on the best practices for a smooth transition.

Collaboration with the Community:

Vendors often collaborate with the broader technology community, including researchers and other vendors, to stay ahead of emerging quantum threats and share knowledge.

Regular Updates and Support:

Vendors provide regular updates to their quantum-safe solutions and offer ongoing support to ensure that their clients' systems remain secure as the technology landscape evolves.
