I think we are a long way off from widespread use of hommorphic encryption. It's interesting to think about, but look at how limited we are in widespread use of public key infrastructure. From my view (and I welcome enlightenment on this if I'm mistaken), hommorphic encryption will require an infrastructure of at least a similar if not greater scale.

@JoePete It is already here within the Z Series mainframes. https://www.ibm.com/support/z-content-solutions/fully-homomorphic-encryption/

Plus within Linux too.
