Recently passed the CC ISC2 exam

I’m an IT professional with over 10 years of experience in application support. After passing the CC exam, I’m looking to transition into cybersecurity and would appreciate any leads or advice on finding a junior or entry-level role to grow in this field.

@magha777 you should be leveraging your existing experience to get into cybersecurity.

Are you networking with professionals in your area? Get involved with local chapters of ISSA, ISC2, ISACA, Infragard, and OWASP to make connections and find out what's in the area. Don't overlook local events such as BSides conference, etc.

@David_James Although misspelled this refers to a dump site which should not be used. Doing so could cause a person to lose their certification.

In addition to what @emb021 has listed, you could seek out volunteer opportunities with your local church or scouting activity or seniors center, etc.

Also you could attend vendor seminars. These will assist in building your knowledge base.

If you are currently working, seek out folks currently doing Security and determine if there are any jobs opening or even projects that you might be able to take part in.
