Thought I'd ask how you are using your local ISC2 chapter? I've been an ISC2 member and CISSP certified for a couple of years. It would be great if members wanted to share lessons learned and tips for newer ISC2 members.

> Brendan (Newcomer II) posted a new topic in Chapters on 11-20-2018 07:31 PM in

> Thought I'd ask how you are using your local ISC2 chapter?

In Vancouver ( http://www.infosecbc.org/ ) we try to keep active. We have
monthly meetings with speakers, and also note/promote job openings in the area.
We try to keep track of security and tech related events in the area, and maintain
a calendar of such events for reference. We support two sister groups (in Victoria
and Kelowna) by Webcasting most of our meetings. (Others can get access as
well.) We don't levy any fees for membership or meetings, in order to provide for
greater access. We have a number of student members, and have tried/are trying
various forms of mentoring.

====================== (quote inserted randomly by Pegasus Mailer)
rslade@vcn.bc.ca slade@victoria.tc.ca rslade@computercrime.org
I ... took out the cartabla and figured out how to use its
interface. This took longer than I'd expected because it wasn't
made for literate people. I couldn't make any headway at all
with its search functions, because of all its cack-handed efforts
to assist me. - `Anathem,' Neal Stephenson
victoria.tc.ca/techrev/rms.htm http://twitter.com/rslade
http://blogs.securiteam.com/index.php/archives/author/p1/
https://is.gd/RotlWB
