You said you passed the CISSP.

I assume you passed the exam, but have you completed the process to obtain the CISSP?

CASP+ is a mid-level cert. I would place it (and I think many others do as well) midlevel between certs like Sec+ and CC and senior level certs like CISSP. [there is actually a great chart out there that does that for a wide ranges of infosec and related certs]

If you already have the CISSP, I see little value in spending the time and money to obtain certs like Sec+, CC, CASP+ and the like. Better to invest that time and money into more specialist certs.

If, however, you don't yet have the experience to obtain the CISSP and it will be several years before that, then getting the CASP+ in the mean time might be ok.

I was thinking after all the effort I put into studying for the CISSP, it wouldn't take much to pass the CompTIA CASP+.

I'm interested in your thoughts on:

Whether or not this is a correct assumption.

What the value of having both would be

Thank you.

Go get it, but don't do it blindly. Everyone adds their own flavor.

Congrats on the CISSP, btw!
