I get similar surveys from ISACA.

They usually give me no more then 4-5 CPEs within a year, and are usually of importance to the organization and/or certs, so don't see a problem.

I appreciate free CPE opportunities as much as anyone, but I'm having trouble understanding the justification for awarding CPEs for filling in surveys or listening to the board's quarterly update. Are these activities really continuing professional education?

I haven't taken any of the surveys so can't comment on those. For the quarterly updates and the recent bylaws webinars, I believe I learned something about the inner workings of a non-profit organisation by watching them, so was justly awarded Group B CPEs.
