SANS on-demand (self paced) courses for ISC2 CISSP CPEs

I am planning to enroll myself into SANS on-demand (self paced) course for Cloud Security this year. The course materials include 5 books and videos to prep for the certification. SANS considers the course is worth 36 CPEs. Can studying and preparing for the course counted for my CISSP renewal? If anyone has done this for a SANS self paced course, please let me know. Appreciate your insights.

SANS is top-notch. If you don't mind can you give some feedback about the course once you start working through it? It is something others may be interested in as well. Myself included.

My colleague took GCIH and he mentioned that it was worth it. I am enrolling myself in GCLD, their cloud security essentials this month. I am still trying to find an answer submitting CPEs for my training.
