ISC2 Self Paced online Course

I just wondered if anyone else was doing this course at the moment. I'm working my way through it and finding it very interesting, as my background is more IT security (I've got my CISSP) than governance. But I'm struggling a little with the questions; most seem obvious, but I really can't understand some of them, and I can't find the answer when I go back over the material. When you get a question wrong, it doesn't tell you what the correct answer is, and I really want to know.

I'd just like to hear from others who are doing the course and how they are finding it. If you know a way of accessing the answer when you get a question wrong that would be great.

I've answered my own question. The questions are listed when you view your analytics, and there's an answers tab on that page. Click any question, and it expands, showing the possible options, your answer and the correct answer with an explanation of why.

Hello,

I am working through the self-paced system as well. To find the answers to the questions in the domains, go to the domain of interest, and select the "analytics" at the top right of the screen. On the new screen, select "answers" from the tab options.

I am taking the online version too. The study guide is helpful, so be sure to refer to it. However, I found actually diving into the NIST frameworks and using an LLM to be more helpful in places where the online course and study guide were not clear. Good luck.

I have completed the self-paced course and read the book. I find that the material is lacking and ISC2 should be ashamed of themselves for selling such an incomplete course. The practice quiz on ISC2's website is focused heavily on memorization of NIST/ISO policy and not applicability. If that ends up being the exam, I expect to fail. I don't have all day to read government policy documents. I was hoping the course would provide what I need but as my exam date nears, I feel woefully unprepared to take the exam as the course material does not reflect the practice questions. Anyone else?

I just finished the online self paced class and Im nervous that it is to basic. Maybe Im just scared.

That's definitely something I found frustrating.

I would say to very new people going for the CC you need to read around the subject a little to get those definitions locked in.

I was never sure whether the info ws genuinely missing or that because of the adaptive learning the course was skipping bits it assumed I already knew and therefore I missed important definitions.

Does the online self-paced course come with a new version of the book CBK? It says in the promotional material "Digital eTextbook"

The CC eTextbook costs extra. I did review it to be able to speak about it intelligently and not sure how much would help a beginner. I would suggest maybe the Sybex book which is who produces ISC2 study guides (CBKs are definitely not for reading). The author is Mike Chapple who is well respected. Know the exam objectives and will be fine.

I just signed up for the online, self-paced CGRC course as well, and just started browsing the material. I'm looking forward to joining the community of learners to better understand the material!
