Recently Conferred Bachelor's Degree: Now What?

While I was in my fourth year at Northeastern University in Spring 2021, I sat for the SSCP examination in and passed. I used my status as an Associate of (ISC)^2 to secure a a 6 month co-op as a Security Engineer (as well as 2 consecutive Spring semesters as a teaching assistant). I graduated in May 2022 and am now approximately a month and a half into my job as a Software Engineer at a reputable cybersecurity company. My question is, when is the earliest that I can become a member of (ISC)^2? Does a co-op count as relevant work experience since it is definitionally not an internship or part-time work? Thank you for your help.

Candidates must have a minimum of one year cumulative paid work experience in one or more of the seven domains of the SSCP CBK. A one year prerequisite pathway will be granted for candidates who received a degree (bachelors or masters) in a cybersecurity program.

A candidate who doesn’t have the required experience to become an SSCP may become an Associate of (ISC)² by successfully passing the SSCP examination. The Associate of (ISC)² will then have two years to earn the one year required experience.

Part-time work and internships may also count towards your experience.
